You were everything to me:

You were everything to me:

You weren’t the rain
but the aftermath.

The blooms that grew
from moss-riddled concrete,
the mushrooms that rose
in the belly of the forest,

the roses and their thorns,
the daffodils, the weeping wysteria fines,
the dandelions that laughed
as they danced in the breeze,

the clouds gilded gold
as they parted to the sun,
the blue skies
the night skies
the falling stars,

the whole world
begging and ending
over and over again.

You were that to me,
a new daybreak
a sunset
and all else in-between.

You were everything
to me.
