Giuliani’s son gets West Wing access revoked:

Andrew Giuliani, a junior White House staffer and the son of Rudy Giuliani, has had his West Wing access revoked, despite an order from President Trump to promote him.

Axios reported that Trump ordered the younger Giuliani’s promotion after dining with his father, now one of the president’s personal lawyers, at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

At the time, Trump told his body man, Jordan Karem, to ensure that White House chief of staff John Kelly followed through with Giuliani’s promotion to special assistant to the president, according to Axios.

But that promotion never materialized. According to Axios, Kelly and others believe that Giuliani “subverts the chain of command.”

Kelly stripped Giuliani of his West Wing access about two weeks ago, Axios reported, leaving him with a “green pass.” That means he cannot enter the West Wing without an escort.

It’s unclear whether Trump is aware that his order to promote Giuliani was not carried out, according to the news outlet.

Trump and Giuliani reportedly have a close relationship that goes back years. The junior staffer told Axios that he considers the president not only a “good friend” but a “father figure.”

“The president has been there for me, for the good times, but more importantly through the bad,” he said. “That’s just the kind of man he is. I’m grateful that he’s always been willing to give me his advice on personal matters and I consider him to be my good friend and even a father figure. His family is my family.”
