Donald Trump Jr. responded to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) via a tweet Thursday after the organization released a Halloween costume mocking him for his affinity for trophy hunting.

The $169 outfit, which depicts President Trump‘s oldest child smeared with blood and draped with a leopard he’s apparently brought down, was “inspired by and is a twist on the trophy-hunting photo that showed the Trump brothers grinning over the body of a dead leopard,” PETA said.

Trump Jr. said in his tweet that few “have as much animal blood on their hand as PETA” and included a link to a Huffington Post article to back up his claims that PETA is “literally an animal slaughter factory.”

@DonaldJTrumpJr

Ironically, there are few orgs in world history that have as much animal blood on their hands as PETA. You hypocrites are literally an animal slaughter factory.

“In the last 11 years, PETA has killed 29,426 dogs, cats, rabbits, & other domestic animals.” https://www.huffingtonpost.com/nathan-j-winograd/peta-kills-puppies-kittens_b_2979220.html

He also included a quote from the article, that “in the last 11 years, PETA has killed 29,426 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic animals.”

PETA defended its euthanasia practices in a tweet responding to Trump Jr. on Thursday night while calling him a “callous creep.”

@peta

Thanks for pointing out that we’ll always offer animals in desperate need a merciful release, free of charge to their less-fortunate guardians. We don’t travel the world blowing animals away as you do. Watch this, you callous creep! For the full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xut7plfyOus

“There’s nothing more frightful than an entitled ghoul who gets his kicks from gunning down wild animals,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk had said in a statement released earlier Thursday.

PETA has previously criticized Trump Jr. over his hunting, running an ad campaign in April calling for his deportation.
